Trade Ledger scores $24 million from US and UK VCs
Sydney-born fintech company Trade Ledger has raised $24 million in a round led by billionaire investor and US hedge fund manager Steve Cohen’s Point72Ventures.
The company, whose team is now split between Sydney and London, enables lenders to provide credit to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by providing the banks with a snapshot of all the data they need to accurately weigh up an SME’s risk based on their supply chain.
The £13.5 million ($24 million) capital raise is the first substantial funding round for the business. It also had participation from Foundation Capital, which led a venture debt round closed previously, as well as DocuSign founder Court Lorenzini and London-based VC fund Hambro Perks.
