Zopa is the world’s oldest and Europe’s largest peer-to-peer lending service, having lent over £1.35 billion in personal loans. Launched in 2005, their founders were inspired by emerging online marketplaces like eBay and Betfair, where customers could connect directly.
Their name, Zopa, stands for ‘Zone of Possible Agreement’ – a negotiating term that identifies the bounds within which agreement can be reached between two parties.
They are committed to providing fairer finance to everyone and they’re growing faster than ever. To date, they’ve funded 81,000 cars, 44,000 kitchens and consolidated 52,000 debts.
